We're so glad you asked.
Our HAVEN Monitor can be installed alongside ANY air handler. As long as it's in the return duct and we have regular airflow that is above 60fpm (0.3m/s), we're golden.
If you're looking to install a HAVEN Controller alongside your HVAC system, here are a few things to keep in mind:
- The Controller has two 24V dry contact relays. These are what would be wired up with any HVAC or IAQ equipment to activate it. If the communicating system you're wanting to install has 24V control terminals, you'll need to make sure they can operate in parallel or as an alternative to the communicating controls.
-
If yes, install HAVEN on the 24V controls, as you would a non-communicating system, across the R+G. During the Controller Relay Check step in the HAVEN IAQ App install process, please confirm as per normal that the blower turns on when the Controller attempts to activate it.
-
If no to #1 or #2 above, the HAVEN Controller is NOT compatible with your communicating system and thermostat combination. In this case, please go into the fan on settings and configure the fan to turn on for at least 10 minutes per hour to ensure frequent airflow through the HAVEN Monitor, and prevent stagnant air in the home during shoulder seasons.
**If you landed on #3, don't fret. You will still be able to use the Controller to activate other IAQ equipment like mechanical ventilation, dampers, humidifiers and dehumidifiers. If the equipment you're wanting to control requires airflow to ensure its effectiveness, make sure to physically interlock it with the air handler.
